My blog, such as it is

Went to see Wicked tonight (for the second time). We had dinner at a nice sit down restaurant across the street (an expensive dinner, but very good food), and then went to the show.

We had good seats - row X, seats 1 and 2. Much better view than the last time we went (way up in the cheap nosebleed seats). The only complaint I really had was that the seats are "medium", and I'm an "extra large". I think the seats were actually smaller than airplane seats, if you can believe that.

What a weekend. Friday drove to Indiana. Had to take a 60 mile detour to avoid a 10 mile construction traffic jam - but at least we weren't stuck in traffic for hours on end. Saturday we went to Tulana's grand-niece's graduation. It was hot, the principal talked for nearly two hours, the camcorder battery died while taping his speech. Sunday was nicer in temps, and we went and had a family barbeque. We drove home Monday, no construction traffic jams, just an 11 hour drive.

One of the nice things of the trip was that we stayed in a Holiday Inn Express. Best hotel in Cloverdale - free hot breakfast, jacuzzi tub, king sized bed - we'll probably be staying there again next time we go, instead of at her mom's or at the cheaper hotels in town.

Finally, after a week, it's stopped raining. We went shopping yesterday, and I bought some new dress clothes for work, since I haven't had any new ones in probably a year.

We went to the casino last night too, and I won more than we took in, so that was a good night. Couldn't breathe after all the smoke tho.

Today is kind of a lazy day. slept in, watched some tv, did some laundry... not an exciting life!

Ouch. Took the van in yesterday because it was overheating (Finally melted enough snow so I COULD get the van out). Overheated on the freeway, didn't even make it to work.

turns out the water pump went bad. lost all my coolant. ended up replacing that, the serpentine belt, the tortioners, the thermostat.

950.00.

ouch.

Well, that was unexpected.

We went to the mall today, for her to buy clothes and makeup and shoes, because she had coupons. I stayed in the car and read my book, listened to the radio.

On our second to last stop (the shops are across the street from each other), when we were leaving, the car wouldn't start. Apparently, I killed the battery listening to the radio.

So, we went in, and had security give us a jump, then we went to Batteries Plus and bought a new battery. He installed it there, and he told us we were the 4th Element today.

Weird. But we now have a new battery, and I'll probably listen to music on headphones now!
